Bert's Big Adventure
February 2009
In February, The Icebox pitched in and did its part for
Bert's Big Adventure.
Bert’s Big Adventure (BBA) was founded seven years ago by Q100 talk show host Bert Weiss and his wife Stacey. Each year BBA sponsors a trip to Disney World for families with children ages 5-12 in the Q100 listening area (99.7 FM) who have chronic or terminal illnesses. This year, the big trip was scheduled for Feb. 19-23 and started with an on-air send off for the 13 inspirational families that have been chosen to visit "The Happiest Place on Earth."
One of the items on the Bert's Big Adventure wish list was t-shirts for the kids, the family members and the staff so they will recognize their travel mates. For the second year in a row, The Icebox came to the rescue to fill the need. The Icebox's creative team worked with Bert's Big Adventure staff to design and print colorful t-shirts for the entire travel party. In addition, The Icebox went a step further and produced backpacks, sweatshirts and bag tags for each child and arranged to have the entire package drop shipped to each family and staff member before the big travel day arrives.
